Poem 65 – My Invisible Sister

Standard

My Invisible Sister

by Jaymie Gerard

Mom and daddy said today,

“Your sister’s coming soon!”

They bought a bunch of pink things

And stuck them in a room

They point to mommy’s belly

They say the baby’s there

I looked and looked my hardest

But I can’t find her anywhere!

Poem 59 – “Yesterday I Lost a Tooth”

Standard

“Yesterday I Lost a Tooth” by Jaymie Gerard

Yesterday I lost a tooth

And saw a fairy – It’s the truth!

It happened when I went to bed

I felt a small hand lift my head

I thought at first it was a dream

But pinched myself and gave a SCREAM

Then “Shhh!” I heard, “Don’t wake your dad

Or mom, that would be very bad!

Now if you want to get your money

Then you better listen closely, honey –

Don’t tell a soul you saw me here.”

“Ok,” I promised, real sincere”

And out she pulled a stack so high

Of dollars that they reached the sky

“These are for you who gave your word

You never saw or smelled or heard

Of me… and just to make it clear –

If you tell they’ll disappear.

“Of course,” I said, “I understand”

As she placed the bills into my hand

Then off she flew and there I sat

And I was rich and that was that.

Don’t believe me?  Well, then here’s the box

I put it in, behind my socks –

Ta-Daaaaaa!!!!

No wait!  Where did it go?!

It was all right here minutes ago

It must have vanished.  But how?  I wonder,

Did I make some sort of blunder?

I kept my secret, thru and thru

The only one I told… was you.

Poem 49 – “Why Does Everybody Gotta Be So Cruel?”

Standard

“Why Does Everybody Gotta Be So Cruel?” by Jaymie Gerard

Peter called Petunia a pickled poopy pie

So Petunia stuck her tongue at him until it made him cry

Sandra told Steven he smelled like rotten cheese

So Steven sprinkled pepper next to Sarah ‘til she sneezed

Markus called Maria a mangy monster mutt

So Maria put a “kick me” sign on Markus’s butt

Devon told me that I look like drool –

Why does everybody gotta be so cruel?

Poem 48 – “Bellybutton” by Jaymie Gerard

Standard

“Bellybutton” by Jaymie Gerard

I looked down at my belly

And much to my surprise

I found a little button

Before my very eyes

I’m not sure how it got there

I don’t know what it’s for

But I think I’ll check the rest of me

To see if there are more

Day 46 – “Come Look Out the Window With Me”

Standard

“Come Look Out the Window with Me” by Jaymie Gerard

What do you see?

What do you see?

Come look out the window with me!

What do you see?

What do you see?

I see a man with a garbage can

What do you see?

What do you see?

I see a flower in a bright sun shower

What do you see?

What do you see?

I see the yard and Daddy in the garden

What do you see?

What do you see?

I see a light shining in the night

What do you see?

What do you see?

Come look out the window with me!
